They are two ways: a really slow and (not so) fast boat (lancha rápida)

The slow one take a few days, not sure how much, people told me 6. The fast takes 1 day and half. The slow boat cost 90soles (people told me) and the fast 215soles. 

It leaves certain days of the week (at least Friday ). I met some people in Pantoja that were waiting since 2 days.

So in this price they are some things included: one night at the hotel in San Clotilde, a very cheap one... I guess. If my hotel in Pantoja was 15soles, this one should be 5soles. Then the boat stop in Masan and from there we take the road 3soles of Tuc-Tuc or mototaxi as called here, and another boat again from the same company. It is like a shortcut to join the Amazon river.

So the boat is their mean of communication and then it stops at many place to take/deliver passengers and shipments. That’s why not so fast.

San Clotilde, 1500 almas! Way more animate than Pantoja, some shops, streets, almost a urbanization, but no vegetables and fruits. How can it be that no fruits or vegetables grow here? 

They wait on shipments from Iquitos.

The owner of the hotel knew quite a bit about Portugal and we start talking. He asked me if the Peruvian have cared me well? I answered “well ...my last girlfriend was Peruvian and she broke my heart... does it count?” Good laugh!  

4am Saturday, here we go again! 

I talk with one woman traveling in the same boat. She is an agronomy engineer. They are trying to make plantation of native cacao in Pantoja. She argue that their cacao is better than the hybrid cacao they have in Ecuador.

She also gave me a list of all boat going to the boarder. 

The 2nd boat leaking everywhere! We were under a terrible tropical rain! Thunderstorm and strong winds! (Two days later, when visiting the forest I saw trees that felt this same day).

We almost got reversed due one big wave. A lot of people screaming and we put our life jackets. But as you guess I posted this post so we survived :) 

Boat 215soles, leaving a couple of times during the week. Be lucky, i am not sure of the days.

Hostel, only one in Pantoja 15soles.
